The “troublesome ending” to Elon Musk’s relationship with President Trump and the administration was regretted by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in a recent interview.
I suppose it was bound to explode at some time, but it seems almost like he had a paternal obsession with Donald Trump. In what ways did you see that connection? After both Wiles and Miranda Devine agreed that there was a “hiccup” with the previous head of DOGE, Devine contacted Wiles, a columnist for the New York Post.
Wednesday saw the debut of Devine’s “Pod Force One” podcast, in which Wiles participated in an interview. It was in May when Musk resigned from his position in the Trump administration.
“Similarly, the president showed him an abundance of kindness. Plus, Elon had a plethora of advice to provide. He was well-versed in areas where we were lacking, including people and technology. According to Wiles, “it had a very troublesome ending” after being a terrific thing at one point.
Trump and Musk have been feuding over the “Big, Beautiful Bill” that Trump endorsed, and the fact that the former head of DOGE has started a new political party called the “America Party.”
Musk has stated that the new party will aim to capture some important congressional seats. The objective is to form a powerful enough coalition to prevent what Musk perceives as the worst kinds of Republican and Democratic excesses, but also maintaining a delicate balance of power.
According to Musk, the law is a “disgusting abomination.”
“I just don’t get it. How the two ended their relationship is something Wiles told Devine she couldn’t answer. Our time together was rewarding. He has a unique perspective on life, and I find it intriguing. I believe the president likely had a somewhat different perspective, but ultimately, it did not end well.
After Musk announced his candidacy for a third party on Monday, the president spoke out.
As he greeted reporters in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump stated, “I think it’s ridiculous to start a third party.” He then mounted Air Force One. The Republican Party is a huge achievement for us. I believe that launching a third party just serves to further muddle matters; the Democrats have strayed from their original platform, but the system has always been two-party.
“It appears to have been designed with two factions in mind,” the president extended his remarks. There has never been a successful third party. So, he’s free to enjoy himself with that, but I find it completely absurd.
