DOJ Opens Grand Jury Probe: Will Obama Face Russiagate Charges?

According to HeadlinesForever Digital’s reporting, a grand jury investigation into the alleged plot to link President Trump to Russia has been launched by the Department of Justice after Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered her staff to do so on Monday in response to a criminal referral from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

A letter from Bondi, which was reviewed by HeadlinesForever Digital and a source familiar with the investigation, states that the department is planning to present evidence to a grand jury in the hopes of securing an indictment. The prosecutor has been ordered by Bondi personally to begin legal proceedings.

An official from the Department of Justice (DOJ) chose not to comment on the investigative report, but they did state that Bondi is treating Gabbard’s recommendation “very seriously.” Apparently, Bondi thinks there’s “clear cause for deep concern” and that future actions are necessary, according to the spokesman.

It was two weeks ago when Gabbard formally referred a case to the DOJ for criminal prosecution. A memorandum headed “Intelligence Community suppression of intelligence showing ‘Russian and criminal actors did not impact’ the 2016 presidential election via cyber-attacks on infrastructure” was attached to the referral, which requested the Department of Justice to embark on an inquiry.

At this point in time, no prospective suspects have been charged in connection with the inquiry.

In July, Gabbard disclosed material that provided additional insight into the Obama administration’s purported decision that Russia attempted to assist Trump in the 2016 election. Now, it has been revealed that the DOJ is proceeding with a grand jury investigation.

The American people were led to believe, according to former president Obama and his intelligence professionals, a “contrived narrative” that Russia meddled in the 2016 election in order to assist President Trump win. When asked about the intelligence, Gabbard clarified to the press that it wasn’t.

In December 2016, following Trump’s victory, a meeting record was made public that supposedly showed how Obama had asked his subordinates to compile an intelligence assessment. The study supposedly documented the “tools Moscow used and actions it took to influence the 2016 election.”

The intelligence report emphasized that Russia’s activities were not meant to influence the election’s outcome, but to instill skepticism towards democracy.

The “groundwork” for a story that then-candidate Trump and his campaign cooperated to help him win the 2016 election was established by Obama and his national security personnel, according to Gabbard’s allegations. For a large portion of Trump’s first government, an FBI investigation and two probes by special counsels hung over his head.

Given that the statutes of limitations for most of the actions from over ten years ago have expired, it is uncertain who the grand jury is likely to indict and what charges may be at play.

Trump officials have put former Obama administration intelligence chiefs including James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper under examination for what they say is their role in creating information that hurt Trump’s 2016 election.
