Trump Demands Federal Charges Against George Soros and Son

In a social media statement on Wednesday, President Trump made it clear that he is determined to use federal authority to bring Democratic megadonor George Soros and his son Alexander to justice. This is just the latest effort by the president to use federal power against his political opponents.

After supporting violent protests and other causes around the country, Trump stated on Truth Social that George Soros and his beautiful radical left-wing son should face RICO charges.

Since Soros has a lengthy record of financially supporting Democrats and leftist initiatives, he has come under heavy criticism from MAGA Republicans. Saying this during Trump’s first term in office, he said the president wanted to create a mafia state.

A long time ago, even before his 2016 opponent Hillary Clinton, Trump demanded the prosecution of his political opponents. But notable critics of the president, including as John Bolton and Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), have been investigated or prosecuted by the federal government during his second term.

Just before leaving office in January, former president Joe Biden presented the older Soros with the nation’s highest civilian accolade, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Justice Department spokeswoman Natalie Baldassarre failed to react when asked about the president’s threats, instead referring to a provision of the DOJ handbook regarding “disclosure of information concerning ongoing criminal, civil, or administrative investigations.”

In a statement on X, the Soros family’s foundation, the Open Society Foundations, condemned Trump’s threat.

The organization expressed its deep concern at the “outrageous” threats made against their founder and chair. “Our mission is to advance democratic principles, justice, and human rights in the US and globally.”

“Our country has taken a major hit because of Soros and his gang of psychopaths! It even includes his wild pals on the West Coast,” Trump stated. “Watch out! We’re looking over your shoulder!”

In recent weeks, the president’s legal threats against his political opponents have been more severe.

After former New Jersey governor Chris Christie criticized the Trump Justice Department in an ABC interview, Trump accused Christie of lying about the 2013 “Bridgegate” issue and recommended Monday that investigators concentrate on Christie. Christie had been an ally of Trump’s before.

Bolton, the president’s former national security advisor and a vocal opponent of his foreign policies, had his house in Maryland raided last Friday by federal officials. Additionally, last week, Schiff established a legal defense fund in response to the Justice Department’s investigation into his financial dealings, which his representative said as “baseless smears” emanating from “and his MAGA allies.”

Additionally, Trump said that Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook would be leaving her position, citing claims of mortgage fraud that had been made public by a political appointee. Cook has vowed to challenge Trump’s actions in court and has disputed the accusations.
