In a document acquired by HEADLINESFOREVER, it is stated that on Thursday, President Donald Trump severed the protection of former Vice President Kamala Harris by the Secret Service.
Trump ordered the Secret Service to remove Harris’ security clearance as of September 1 in a document headed “Memorandum for the Secretary of Homeland Security,” which was dated August 28 and signed by the president.
“Effective September 1, 2025, you are given the green light to end all security-related procedures previously authorized by Executive Memorandum, with the exception of those mandated by law, for the following individual:” “Kamala D. Harris, former vice president,” the document stated.
According to CNN, the news broke just as Harris is about to begin a promotional tour of fifteen cities for her new book, “107 Days,” which begins next month. After vanishing from public view since stepping down as vice president in January, the trip will bring the former leader back into the limelight.
In a statement, Kirsten Allen, who spoke on behalf of Harris, expressed gratitude to the United States Secret Service for their expertise, devotion, and constant focus on safety. The Vice President is also appreciative to the service.
An anonymous source familiar with the matter said that former president Joe Biden had originally planned to prolong Harris’ Secret Service protection for another year, but was granted anonymity in order to negotiate security arrangements. The original extension was supposed to terminate in mid-July. In contrast to presidents, whose protections last indefinitely upon leaving office, vice presidents usually only have them for six months.
The revocation of protection has been verified by a White House spokeswoman, who declined to provide any other comments.
Hunter Biden and his half-sister Ashley Biden both had their enhanced security safeguards revoked earlier this year by Trump.
