In an exclusive interview with Fox Noticias on Tuesday, President Donald Trump boasted about the tariff and border successes of his administration as he nears the end of his first 100 days in office.
The president began his response to HeadlinesForever’s Rachel Campos-Duffy’s question on his greatest accomplishment since taking office by praising the efforts of his administration to resolve the border problem.
The border is 100%, I suppose, now that people have realized that. I mean, it’s 100%. Now it’s flawless, and you might not be able to tell. Just right. Things will improve, though. “By the way, we welcome immigration, but everyone is in agreement that it must be done legally,” Trump added.
Trump campaigned on a platform that included securing the border. Illegal border crossings have been declining consistently since his administration.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently released a study showing that overall, March saw fewer apprehensions at the southern border than the first two days of the same month in 2024, when the Biden administration was in office.
The study states that the United States Border Patrol has recorded its lowest daily countrywide apprehensions for the second consecutive month.
President Trump took pleasure in the administration’s economic achievements, especially tariff measures, during his interview with Fox Noticias.
The United States is reaping enormous financial benefits from the tariffs imposed by nations that have exploited it economically for decades. In his conversation with Campos-Duffy, he made it clear that they must not let it happen.
President Trump announced new tariffs earlier this month on a day the White House called “Liberation Day.” The Trump administration has increased tariffs on China and put a 90-day hold on tariff retaliation for nations that are open to trade talks (as of April 2).
Trump informed Campos-Duffy that he is “happy” about a lot of things, including the progress Congress has made on the “Big, Beautiful Bill” that will reduce taxes and regulations.
