On Monday, President-elect Trump revealed three significant appointments to White House positions, two of whom previously served during his first administration.
The announcement featured the hiring of James Braid, who will return to the White House as deputy assistant to the president and director of the Office of Legislative Affairs.
Braid worked in legislative affairs at the Office of Management and Budget during Trump’s first term, and he is now the lead policy aide for Vice President-elect JD Vance in the United States Senate.
Braid has previously served as chief of staff to many members of Congress and has held a number of other senior policy positions on Capitol Hill since 2015.
Trump also announced that Alex Latcham will return to the White House as deputy assistant to the president and director of the Office of Public Liaison.
During Trump’s first term, Latcham served as the president’s special assistant and deputy political director.
Latcham has been Trump’s senior deputy political director for the past eight years, working for both his campaign and the Republican National Committee.
Matt Brasseaux, the third individual appointed, will serve as the president’s deputy assistant and director of the Office of Public Affairs.
Brasseaux served as deputy political director for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee in 2024.
He previously worked as a regional political director for the Republican National Committee and campaign manager for Nevada’s current governor, Joe Lombardo.
