In a remote Alaskan village, a polar bear attacked and killed a lady and a boy.
According to state troopers, the attack was reported at 2.30 p.m. local time (11.30 p.m. UK time) on Tuesday near Wales, Alaska, on the westernmost point of the Seward Peninsula.
The polar bear apparently invaded the neighbourhood and chased several neighbours, according to the troopers’ report.
An older female and a young male were killed by the bear.
A local man shot and killed the bear as it charged at the two, according to the troopers.
While troopers said they were working to notify families, the names of the two victims deceased were not made public.
Once the weather permits, troopers and the state Department of Fish and Game want to go to Wales, according to the dispatch.
